couching

My process (or rampage) of clearing out the house is settling down. I'm able to do other things again.

That is an awesome piece you've made. I keep sneaking peeks at it!

Beautiful work, Oona. What are those white circles near the bottom?

Wonderful, wintery piece of needle punching and I love how you have embellished with buttons (?) and stitchery.
I am just popping over from Judy Martins blog and have enjoyed visiting and reading back through some of your older posts.
He hee... I'm going to do a shedule of my own today. Between fabrics, paint and the computer I fear not enough housework being done!!!

Your triangle quilt is wonderful and I love all of the 'toadstool' colours you have chosen. Handpiecing is lovely because it is so portable isnt it...especially with a busy lifestyle like yours with your little ones. Congratulations on the birth of your little boy too!

Jacky.

Thank you for the encouraging words. The circles at the bottom are flat beads held in place with seed beads. I'm not sure what they are made of as April and I found them at V.village. In fact, my favourite thing about this piece is that I had all the wool and thread and beads I needed to make it. Some of the wool was yours Mom, and some of it was Granny's. The trees are made from some of what's left of Everett's sweater. I also had the punch needle and burlap from when I first discovered this technique and couldn't contain my eagerness to try it.
