p.s. I've given up on sourdough for now. I just baked my first loaf a la New York Times and that's the end of my experiment. I now have my daily (well, weekly anyway) bread. Thank you Mary and Tim. The bread looks, smells and I'm sure tastes beautiful.
I'm not sure what I'll do with my fridge pet - probably keep it alive. or eat it.... hmmm...think I'll stop calling it a pet.
